What are the chances of learning to play piano at the age of 73?

Barbara T asked:

It has always been my desire to play, but I never seemed to find the time. Course, now I am running out of time. So what do you think?

If you have the desire, and your hands are still working good, there is no reason you cannot learn.

Enjoy the fulfillment of your long term goal. Good for you.

I think if you can find the right teacher you have a good chance. Some people start to play the piano before they can even read (& I'm guessing you can) so I'm sure you will be able to.

older people can still learn anything! You will be doing your brain a favor as it is recommended that older people learn new things to excercise their brain. I bet that if you have a love of music the time you spend at it will be very enjoyable. Do it!

Oh no you're NOT running out of time-maybe energy. There are no limits to what you can do-perhaps you'll even be a composer. No matter-go for it. You'll be happier for it. Music sooths our soul. Get started right away-don't let the feeling pass you by. When you learn, perhaps you can play in the Senoir Citizens' homes and make them happy by playing the old tunes you love.

Go for it! It is never to late to learn something new, age has nothing to do with one's ability to learn to play piano.
Good luck!
