Great to hear things from a person who knows how to think ! You provide a structure to " hang your hat on" so that you feel good about the memory work - you know it has value since it fits into the structure of how music works.
Thanks -
Great lesson! I have one question though , so in the very first video, you teach us to find the "common key" which is the key that is repeated throughout the song. And in this video, you are telling us about the bass also have a key? I thought there is only one key in a song, and how do you figure out the tones in the bass. It is hard to hard to hear whether it is C, D, E…etc. Because most of us don't have perfect pitch to hear the pitch of the note to be able to tell what note it is.
This whole course brings me no end of anxiety as a beginner. I wish there were videos of someone taking time and teaching the scales, showing and then the chords, showing, with fingerings. I am overwhelmed.
I remember the first time i seen this chart on a video of yours I was struggling to see the picture and I actually drew out the chord chart but I didnt know you offered it.. I think this will help me establish my music playing a lot now its time to get that info…..Be Blessed Jermaine
Greatttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can sight read any music placed in front of me.
You have set me free, I do not feel like a slave anymore, thanks to you Jermaine.Praise God,I have been set free. Dick B.

You're great! Thanks! I like the Salsa lessons!
5 Starts, this helped alot
Thanks J. This was truly a blessing
Hi Jermaine,
I forgot to mention that the music handouts you made available for this lessons on chords, patterns, circle of fifths and intervals were excellent! It would be so helpful if you could provide handouts like these for all your videos.

Hi Jermaine,
I will make a good comment, even though I am a little upset that you stood me up for your radio interview June 15th. You never got back to me on the date and time. I believe this teaching was excellent. Showing examples on the board is a great idea. Teaching becomes simplified. Combining the blackboard, keyboard with verbal explanations, that this will cover all types of learners. "If you can hear it and see it, you can play it." This covers it all.

dear mr. griggs, that is some video you have put up….really nice work and well presented….if we have received a bachelors degree in playing by ear and understanding the circle and stuff, you surely have gained a PhD in teaching us…………5 thumbs up and greetings from duesseldorf
excellent video Jermaine!
Very good lesson.
5 stars
Wow. I've just watched all four of your videos and in the process of printing your lessons and flash cards. Your videos FAR EXCEEDS my expectations and I'd recommend ANYONE to you for the knowledge you've acquired over the years because your method makes it so easy to learn. Thanks a million.
omg, for the past few months i've always wondered how to take my "ear-playing" to the next level. I usually just browse the chords from the net and just add the melody.
This so explains everything!!!! Now I forgot how I ventured into this channel, but thank god i did!!!! I'll try to practice and maybe I can play those songs in my church.. I usually cant play without the chords so when we sing songs without the sheet, I just shy away from the piano.. ahaha
impressive teacher
as always INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Hey Jermaine, this was an eye-opening video thanks keep up the good work
everything we need to know on chord progressions is here simple we are a band in texas and we have been having trouble writing songs but things will be a lot simpler -Tarnished Souls
Great lesson Mr. Griggs!
Say music is all connected?
You did a pretty good job of connecting
it all right there.
Circle of Fifths, interval relations, chord formulas, all this theory. All that's left is the application and practice. And that's the student's job.
Sir I have wanted to learn to play for my church, but I am on SSI and I don't have monies to spend on lessons… I want to learn and want to Bless my church… But with no funds no one wants to help, can you…
thanks man i really preciate dis!!!
This is an amazing video! I have spent so much money trying to learn the traditional way and never stayed with it. But I have learned so much from this video and it made me realize how much I already knew. Mr. Jermaine… thank you for sharing your gift with me.
