Gospel and Jazz Runs and Scales, by Kevin “K.C.” Conley

Hi! I'm back on youtube - I experienced a few issues with my youtube account, but GOD is still GOOD!!! This video is a tutorial on how to incorporate runs and scales to add to your musical performance. Aren't you tired of watching musicians show off and never show you how it's REALLY done? Aren't you tired of learning new tricks and not knowing how to create your own tricks and develop your own unique style? On December 9, 2007 I will be joining the Wheatworks (www.showmethat.com) family. I will demonstrate everything that you see on youtube PLUS the real secrets to how I come up with these techniques!!! It is my desire that you become a musical fisherman, and not someone who just learns and duplicates different piano tricks from me... GOD wants YOU to sound like YOU!!! In my new DVD, available from Wheatworks (showmethat.com), I will give you the tools to assist you in CREATING things that have not been heard before!!!

  15. LassiterJ4 says:

Thanks for sharing these runs. But I was wondering if you could post a video that explained what chord progressions are. I have heard that it is very difficult to explain without a music theory lesson.

  16. MDSGI says:

Kevin, I really like your style of teaching. I came across your clip because, I am a former blues/jazz singer who recently started singing gospel. I look forward to viewing more of your clips as they are really helpful to the novice or accomplished musician. God Bless You!

  25. prettysimplemusic says:

i actually cover a few chords and transitions of ‘blessed assurance’ throughout the dvd. i tried to cover some traditional songs as well as contemporary songs. i don’t actually teach full songs as i teach techniques and theoretical approaches to make songs really stand out!!!
